The defending Super Bowl champion Philadelphia Eagles may be getting their most important player back in time for Week 1.

Carson Wentz, who tore his ACL and LCL during a Dec.10 game against the Los Angeles Rams, spoke about his prognosis on Monday, and it seems plausible he'll be under center for the opener.

"I'm very confident. It's a fluid process so you never how it's going to go. But where we're at, just trying to do what the doctors say and take it step-by-step ... I feel really good and really confident for Week 1," Wentz said.

Nick Foles performed admirably in Wentz's absence, earning Super Bowl MVP honors for his performance against the New England Patriots. It is Wentz, however, who changes the trajectory of the franchise entirely, submitting an MVP-caliber season prior to the injury.
