The Milwaukee Bucks will interview San Antonio Spurs assistant Ettore Messina regarding their head coaching job, sources told ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski.
Messina would join a list of interviewees that includes Steve Clifford, Monty Williams, and Mike Budenholzer. Another highly-touted name, David Fizdale, appeared to drop off the list Thursday with his reported hiring by the New York Knicks.
Messina is Gregg Popovich's lead assistant in San Antonio and filled in as bench boss when Popovich missed the last three games of the Spurs' playoff defeat to the Warriors after the death of his wife, Erin.
The Italian-born Messina will also reportedly interview for the Charlotte Hornets' coaching vacancy.
