New York Yankees left-hander Jordan Montgomery's start against the Houston Astros on Tuesday night was a brief one.
Montgomery was pulled after throwing just seven pitches in a perfect first inning on Tuesday, and the team announced he was removed because of left elbow tightness, according to Bryan Hoch of MLB.com. The 25-year-old will now return to New York where he'll be further evaluated by doctors.
Domingo German replaced Montgomery to begin the second inning.
In six starts this season, Montgomery owns a 3.62 ERA and has struck out 23 batters while allowing 12 walks.
