The coaching carousel in the Queen City appears to be ramping up.

Both former Memphis Grizzlies coach David Fizdale and San Antonio Spurs assistant coach Ettore Messina are reportedly scheduled to meet with the Charlotte Hornets in the coming days to interview for their vacant head coach position, according to ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski.

In parts of two seasons with the Grizzlies, Fizdale amassed a head coaching record of 50-51 in the regular season and 2-4 in his lone postseason run. He was fired 19 games into the 2017-18 season due to a sluggish 7-12 start and a growing locker room rift. Prior to taking the head coaching job in Memphis, Fizdale spent eight years on Erik Spoelstra's staff in Miami.

Messina has spent the past four seasons on Gregg Popovich's staff after a storied coaching career in Italy, Russia, and Spain. In the wake of the death of Popovich's wife, Erin, on Wednesday, Messina assumed interim head coaching duties. The Spurs currently trail the Golden State Warriors 3-0 in their first-round series.

The Hornets have also been linked to Toronto Raptors G League coach and former NBA All-Star Jerry Stackhouse as a potential replacement for Steve Clifford, who was dismissed on April 13 after five seasons manning the Hornets' bench.
