Report: Foles, Eagles agree to revised 1-year deal with mutual 2019 option

The Philadelphia Eagles and quarterback Nick Foles have reportedly agreed on a revised contract for the 2018 season with a mutual 2019 option, sources told NFL Network's Mike Garafolo.

Foles will receive a $2-million signing bonus and "several million in incentives," reports NFL Network's Ian Rapoport, citing a source.

The Eagles are apparently rewarding Foles for leading the team to its first Super Bowl victory last year, reports Garofolo, who indicates the deal doesn't reflect any concern about starting quarterback Carson Wentz's recovery from ACL surgery.

Philadelphia reportedly dangled its backup signal-caller in trade talks this offseason after his incredible 2017, but head coach Doug Pederson said the offers were "nothing too crazy."

With the mutual 2019 option, the reigning Super Bowl MVP still has the chance to hit free agency next spring. For now, though, Foles enters the 2018 season as Wentz's clear backup.
