Police suspected Florida State's Francois was selling weed at apartment

Logan Bowles / USA TODAY Sports

Florida State quarterback Deondre Francois was subject to investigation after Tallahassee police believed he was in possession of marijuana with the intent to sell, Safid Deen of the Orlando Sentinel reports.

Police found only 17 grams of marijuana at his apartment, however, and he was not arrested as a result.

Francois is facing a misdemeanor charge of possession of marijuana.

"He's got to be smart about who he's around and what he's around, and make good decisions," Florida State coach Willie Taggart said. "I advise him to just make sure he's around his teammates all the time."

Francois earned ACC Rookie of the Year honors in 2016 after completing 58.8 percent of his passes for 3,350 yards and 20 touchdowns against seven interceptions.
