It doesn't look like ex-Memphis Grizzlies skipper David Fizdale will be a free agent for long. The bespectacled 43-year-old is evidently a hot commodity in what's shaping up to be quite a coaching carousel.

Fizdale told reporters in Oakland he's interviewing with the brain trusts of the New York Knicks and Phoenix Suns next week to discuss the teams' vacant head coaching jobs, according to the NY Daily News' Stefan Bondy. Fizdale was in the Bay Area at the Golden State Warriors' practice to visit friend Steve Kerr.

After a successful tenure as an assistant coach, particularly with Erik Spoelstra's Miami Heat staff from 2008-16, Fizdale compiled a 50-51 regular-season head coaching record with the Grizzlies. He was dismissed just 19 games into the 2017-18 season amid a slow 7-12 start.

Both the Knicks and Suns jobs - previously held by recently fired Jeff Hornacek and interim coach Jay Triano, respectively - have been linked to a number of other potential suitors.

Former All-Star Jerry Stackhouse, who has done yeoman's work as head coach of the Toronto Raptors' G League franchise, Raptors 905, is reportedly a candidate for the Knicks' gig, as are other notable names such as former Warriors coach Mark Jackson and former Cleveland Cavaliers coach David Blatt.

Outside of the Big Apple, current Atlanta Hawks bench boss Mike Budenholzer was reportedly granted permission from his team to interview for the job in Phoenix.
