It doesn't happen often, but a trade between the New York Yankees and New York Mets was consummated Monday.

The Yankees acquired infielder/outfielder L.J. Mazzilli from the Mets in exchange for outfielder Kendall Coleman, the teams announced.

The swap is just the 15th between the clubs, according to Baseball Reference, with the last coming in 2014.

Mazzilli is the son of former MLB player and coach Lee Mazzilli, who works in the Yankees' organization.

A 27-year-old former fourth-round draft choice, Mazzilli split time between Double- and Triple-A last season, hitting .254/.340/.362 with 23 doubles and 40 RBIs.

He has a .929 OPS in four games with Triple-A Las Vegas this season.

Coleman, 22, was drafted by the Yankees in the 11th round in 2013. He appeared in 63 games for Single-A Staten Island in 2017, hitting .212/.294/.322.
