Report: Mets, Marlins have spoken about Realmuto
The New York Mets don't appear like they want to wait long to address their problems behind the plate.
After catchers Travis d'Arnaud and Kevin Plawecki suffered major injuries this week, the Mets have been in touch with the Miami Marlins about backstop J.T. Realmuto, according to Mike Puma of the New York Post.
It would likely take quite a haul for New York to acquire a player of Realmuto's caliber, but the first-place Mets may be able to pull something off because of Realmuto's insistence to be traded during the offseason.

The Marlins have no intention of trading Realmuto at this point, according to MLB.com's Joe Frisaro, although that could change through the season.
The rebuilding Marlins already moved Giancarlo Stanton, Christian Yelich, Marcell Ozuna, and Dee Gordon prior to the 2018 campaign.
Realmuto was one of baseball's top offensive catchers last season, hitting 17 home runs and 31 doubles while driving in 65. He's on the disabled list with a bone bruise in his back, but could return next week.
