Frustration among West Ham supporters spilled onto the pitch as several pitch invaders interrupted Saturday's 3-0 loss to Burnley in an apparent bid to protest the underperforming team and its owners.

Tensions were high before kickoff as the Hammers entered the encounter with just one win over their last six league matches, reviving supporters' calls for the removal of the team's owners.

The situation boiled over moments after Ashley Barnes gave Burnley the lead in the second half, when a handful of fans ran onto the pitch to confront West Ham players.

West Ham captain Mark Noble was visibly upset and got into a physical altercation with one pitch invader, whom the midfielder attempted to forcibly remove from the pitch.

Noble eventually had to be restrained by goalkeeper Joe Hart.

Another supporter ran to the centre circle and began waving one of the corner flags that he had stolen when he made his way onto the pitch.

Being physically restrained by security wasn't enough to stop another fan from voicing his displeasure.

Supporters in the stands, meanwhile, turned their attention toward the director's box, which co-owner David Sullivan had to be ushered out of.
