Report: Green out of UFC 222 bout vs. Dariush with injury

And the hits just keep on coming for UFC 222.

Lightweight Bobby Green has withdrawn from his date with Beneil Dariush on March 3 in Las Vegas due to injury, sources told MMAWeekly's Damon Martin on Wednesday after Farah Hannoun first reported the development.

The promotion is currently seeking a new dance partner for Dariush.

Green was to get back in the saddle on just a 35-day turnaround after besting Erik Koch by unanimous decision at UFC on FOX 27. Meanwhile, Dariush still aims to rebound from a majority draw opposite Evan Dunham at UFC 216, which extended his winless drought to two fights.

The bill will see featherweight queen Cris Cyborg defend her crown against former Invicta FC bantamweight champion Yana Kunitskaya in the main event, with featherweight contenders Frankie Edgar and Brian Ortega clashing in the co-headliner. Edgar was initially slated to challenge reigning champ Max Holloway in the card's closer, but an ankle injury recently suffered by the champ scrapped the matchup and momentarily put the entire event in jeopardy.
