Lesnar survives Strowman, Kane to retain Universal title at Royal Rumble

Tables, chairs, suplexes, knees to the head, chokeslams, and a great deal of pain.

That just about sums up the WWE Universal Championship match at the Royal Rumble on Sunday night, as Brock Lesnar escaped with his title after withstanding the onslaught of fellow juggernauts Braun Strowman and Kane.

Lesnar was rocked just minutes into the match, taking a straight knee to the side of his head courtesy of "The Monster Among Men." The champion retaliated shortly after with a direct shot to Strowman's cranium.

That was some of the tamer violence in this brawl. Strowman was taken out of the action, if only momentarily, after receiving an F-5 through a nearby announce table, and then had a second announce table dumped on top of him.

Strowman rose from the ashes and eventually made his presence felt once again, kicking Lesnar in the face and slamming him into the canvas with a powerslam.

Kane scooped Lesnar, but Lesnar slid off his back and shoved him into Strowman, sending him falling off the apron. One F-5 to "The Big Red Machine" on a steel chair later and "The Beast Incarnate" was declared victorious.
