Internazionale has registered interest in signing striker Daniel Sturridge but will need Liverpool to accept a loan deal in order to acquire the England international in January, reports Andy Hunter of the Guardian.

Sturridge's "heavily incentivised" wages of up to £150,000 per week have been a deterrent for other interested parties like Real Betis, reports Winter, who adds that Inter wants to bring the 28-year-old on an initial loan - requiring a significant fee - and then sign him permanently at the end of the season.

However, Winter adds that a deal is currently a long way from being agreed, and that Liverpool prefers offers for a permanent transfer.

Sturridge has been limited to just nine league appearances this season, and has made 133 total appearances for Liverpool since joining out of Chelsea in 2013. The oft-injured attacker has 63 goals for the Reds, but has missed well over 500 days of action due to issues with his hip, hamstrings, calves, knees, and ankles in the last five years. He picked up a fresh injury in December, too.

Last week, James Pearce of the Liverpool Echo reported the club is willing to offload a wantaway Sturridge and had slapped on a £30-million price tag, though he added that manager Jurgen Klopp is eager to keep the player at Anfield.
