Report: Florida Atlantic AD Chun headed to Washington State

James Snook-USA TODAY Sports

Weeks after signing football coach Lane Kiffin to a new 10-year deal at Florida Atlantic, athletic director Pat Chun is heading to Washington State to take the same position, sources told ESPN's Kyle Bonagura.

Chun has spent the last five-plus years at the helm of the Owls' athletic department, and was responsible for bringing in Kiffin, who turned around a floundering program in his first year on the job.

At Washington State, Chun will inherit another one of college football's bigger personalities in Mike Leach.

He'll also be tasked with finding a spark for the men's basketball program, which hasn't finished a season with a winning record since 2011-12, and hasn't made the NCAA tournament since 2007-08.

The Washington State job was vacated in October by Bill Moos, who became the AD at Nebraska.
