Thrillers at the Emirates Stadium should no longer come as a surprise, and Wednesday's contest in north London followed the same theme as Arsenal's two lively matches from December against a pair of title contenders.

Similar to the Gunners' encounters with Manchester United and Liverpool, the latest edition of the London derby against Chelsea resulted in a fixture that could easily be a contender for match of the season.

Here's a look at the wildest moments from Arsenal's 2-2 draw with Chelsea.

Chambers dozes off

A seemingly innocuous lob into the Arsenal area produced a moment of panic for the home side when Calum Chambers miscalculated Victor Moses' pass to Alvaro Morata.

The Spaniard sped past his marker, but, fortunately for Arsenal, Morata's final product was as farcical as Chambers' defending; the Spanish forward fired his shot well wide of the goal. While Chambers caught an earful from his teammates, Morata looked baffled after failing to end his seven-match goal drought.

Post to post

Arsenal supporters looked poised to celebrate the game's first goal until a pair of cruel bounces kept the match level.

After the Gunners battled their way into the Blues' penalty area, Alexis Sanchez's shot made it through a sea of bodies but was turned aside by Thibault Courtois before bouncing off both posts and back to the 'keeper. Chelsea responded with a chance of its own minutes later when Moses whipped in a low cross, but Morata failed to get his foot on the ball from close range.

Jack Wilshere, unexpected hero

The thrilling nature of the opening 45 minutes carried over to the second half as the London rivals desperately searched for a goal.

Arsenal's period of dominance shortly after the break finally produced an effort on goal, as the sublime Chelsea 'keeper had little chance to make a save when Jack Wilshere hammered his shot into the top corner from close range.

That goal brought an end to Wilshere's lengthy scoring drought in the Premier League:

Bellerin hands Chelsea a lifeline

Celebrations in the stands had barely concluded when a moment of madness overcame Arsenal defender Hector Bellerin.

After Eden Hazard danced his way into the ball and delivered a cross toward the Arsenal net, a deflection bounced back to the Belgian, who was subsequently fouled amid Bellerin's lazy effort to dispossess. Hazard then converted against Petr Cech, who continues to search for his first penalty save since joining Arsenal in 2015.

Mustafi loses the plot

It went from bad to worse for the host in the final 10 minutes of the enthralling contest.

After Davide Zappacosta easily worked his way around Ainsley Maitland-Niles, the Italian picked out Marcos Alonso, who took advantage of Shkodran Mustafi's lackadaisical defending to put Chelsea up 2-1 in the 84th minute.

Morata can't buy a goal

Bellerin brought the Emirates Stadium back to life with his dramatic equaliser in injury time, but another Chelsea break out of the blue should have secured three points for the visitor.

Instead, Morata was left with a hat-trick of costly misses after capping his breakaway opportunity with a dreadful effort that went directly into Cech's chest.

The resulting rebound generated yet another breathtaking moment when Zappacosta drilled the ball into the crossbar.
