Manny Machado may be in a new uniform by the end of the week.

Offers for the three-time All-Star improved over the weekend, according to major-league source of The Athletic's Ken Rosenthal, who reports a final decision on the Baltimore Orioles star's future will likely come this week.

Rival executives from several teams have told Rosenthal they're checking in on the third baseman - who is keen on playing shortstop next season.

Among the interested parties are the Chicago White Sox, St. Louis Cardinals, San Francisco Giants, Boston Red Sox, and New York Yankees, according to Rosenthal's sources. The Arizona Diamondbacks have also checked in on Machado, suggests a report from ESPN's Buster Olney.

The Orioles are seeking a return of two controllable, major league-ready starting pitchers, according to Rosenthal's sources.

Machado is in the final year of his contract before hitting free agency and Orioles executive Dan Duquette and his front office want to get an immediate return for the 25-year-old, rather than a potential lesser one at July's trade deadline.

Baltimore finished last in the American League East last season and could also lose Adam Jones and Zach Britton to free agency at season's end.

Two-time Gold Glover Machado - who has finished in the top five in AL MVP voting twice - owns a .279/.329/.476 slash line with 138 home runs and 406 RBIs during six big-league seasons.
