Report: Usman-Meek rescheduled to UFC 220
Don Wright / USA TODAY Sports
The UFC has rescheduled a welterweight matchup between Kamaru Usman and Emil Meek to UFC 220 in Boston on Jan. 20, sources told MMA Fighting's Ariel Helwani.
The fight was originally scheduled for UFC 219 on Dec. 30, but Meek, a native of Norway, had issues with his United States visa that needed more time to be resolved.
Usman (11-1), the UFC's 12th-ranked welterweight, joins friend Francis Ngannou as the only African-born fighters on the card. The 29-year-old Nigerian most recently defeated Sergio Moraes in September and is undefeated in the UFC.
Meek (9-2) is on a four-fight winning streak, and is coming off a unanimous decision win in his UFC debut over Jordan Mein last December.
