The Arizona Diamondbacks received quite a boost from J.D. Martinez after acquiring him in a trade from the Detroit Tigers last July, and it appears they want to keep the relationship going.

Representatives from the Diamondbacks are expected to meet with Martinez at the winter meetings on Wednesday, according to Jon Heyman of FanRag Sports.

Martinez is also scheduled to meet with the Boston Red Sox at the meetings in Orlando, Fla., according to a separate report from Evan Drellich of CSN New England.

Martinez remains as one of the most sought-after sluggers left on the free-agent market and helped the Diamondbacks to a postseason appearance last year thanks to a .302/.366/.741 slash line with 29 home runs and 65 RBIs across 62 games.

Teams believe Martinez's agent, Scott Boras, is searching for a contract worth around $200 million, ESPN's Jerry Crasnick reported in November, after the 30-year-old slugger hit 45 home runs, drove in 104 runs, and posted a 1.066 OPS last season.

The Diamondbacks currently have around $63 million committed to players for next season, not taking into account arbitration-eligible players. MLB Trade Rumors projects they'll spend an additional $51.3 million in arbitration.
