Add one more to the growing list of teams interested in Marcell Ozuna, as the Texas Rangers have reportedly checked in with the Miami Marlins about the Gold Glove outfielder, according to Jon Heyman of FanRag Sports.

Texas' current outfield situation is quite crowded. Left field looks to be held down by Nomar Mazara, with Delino DeShields Jr. slotted in at center field and Shin-Soo Choo in right.

Heyman reports the Rangers currently plan to go with the speedy DeShields in center despite some inconsistency over the past two seasons. But adding Ozuna could change that, since he can play all three outfield spots.

Indeed, the bulk of Ozuna's big-league experience has come in center field (410 games), although the 27-year-old won his first Gold Glove this past season as a left fielder.

Ozuna's flexibility could open up a variety of lineup possibilities for Texas, which could opt to use him in center full time while pushing DeShields into a fourth outfielder's role. Alternatively, manager Jeff Banister could start Ozuna and DeShields together versus left-handers in right and center respectively as part of a possible three-person platoon to avoid using the lefty-hitting Choo versus southpaws.

It was reported Monday that the market for Ozuna has started to heat up now that the Marlins have dealt Giancarlo Stanton. At that time, six to eight teams - including the Washington Nationals, St. Louis Cardinals, and San Francisco Giants - were said to be interested in the two-time All-Star, who has another two years of arbitration eligibility left before reaching free agency.
