Stanton, Judge, Sanchez hit more HRs than Giants in 2017
The middle of the New York Yankees' lineup is set to become one of the most ridiculous in baseball next season.
If the reported deal between the Yankees and the Miami Marlins for reigning National League MVP Giancarlo Stanton comes to fruition, his power will be added to a lineup already consisting of multiple home run hitters, including Aaron Judge and Gary Sanchez.
ORDER* | POS | PLAYER | HR IN '17 |
---|---|---|---|
1 | DH | Brett Gardner | 21 |
2 | OF | Aaron Judge | 52 |
3 | OF | Giancarlo Stanton | 59 |
4 | C | Gary Sanchez | 33 |
5 | SS | Didi Gregorius | 25 |
6 | 1B | Greg Bird | 9 |
7 | OF | Aaron Hicks | 15 |
8 | 3B | Chase Headley | 12 |
9 | 2B | Ronald Torreyes | 3 |
*Current projected lineup with Stanton and minus Starlin Castro, who is reportedly involved in Stanton trade
Stanton, Judge, and Sanchez combined to hit 144 home runs last season, which was 16 more than the San Francisco Giants hit as a team last season.
The Giants were interested in acquiring Stanton to bolster their lineup, but the slugger apparently wouldn't waive his no-trade clause to accept a move to the Bay Area.
