Watch: Durant, Cousins tossed after confrontation late in Warriors-Pelicans
Tension had been brewing between Kevin Durant and DeMarcus Cousins for much of Monday night's game between the Warriors and Pelicans, and things finally boiled over in the final moments of the Warriors' 125-115 win.
Durant took exception to a Cousins bump, and kept coming after him until the two had to be separated and were assessed technical fouls. With both having earned techs earlier in the game, the second one triggered automatic ejections for each player.
For Durant, who came into this season with just two ejections in his career, it was his league-leading third toss-out of 2017-18; for Cousins, who has topped the NBA in technicals the past two seasons, it was his league-leading eighth of the campaign, putting him on pace for a one-game suspension for a third straight year.
