Tyron Woodley rethinking shoulder surgery
UFC welterweight champion Tyron Woodley is having second thoughts regarding shoulder surgery, a procedure expected to keep him on the shelf for another four months.
Woodley told media Saturday that he's rethinking the surgery and will come to a final decision in the next week, according to MMA Fighting's Ariel Helwani.
The 170-pound champ has not fought since defeating Damien Maia in July as he's dealt with the shoulder issue.
Woodley also revisited the idea of chasing a fight with Georges St-Pierre, which he had done prior to GSP's return at UFC 217. Woodley says he is debating a move up to middleweight to face St-Pierre, who is out indefinitely with colitis, and that he is currently walking around at 205 pounds, according to MMA Junkie's Mike Bohn.
The 35-year-old has no experience at middleweight and St-Pierre has not expressed previous interest in a bout with Woodley.
