Report: Seahawks' Thomas 'a long shot' to play vs. Redskins

Steven Bisig-USA TODAY Sports / Reuters

Seattle Seahawks star safety Earl Thomas is "a long shot" to suit up for Sunday's game against the Washington Redskins after injuring his hamstring in Week 7, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports, citing a source.

Thomas suffered the injury attempting to defend a 72-yard Houston Texans touchdown in the fourth quarter and wasn't able to return.

The three-time All-Pro has been in scintillating form, as usual, this season, most recently intercepting Texans quarterback Deshaun Watson and running it back for a touchdown.

Bradley McDougald would likely get the starting nod if Thomas is unable to play.
