Joey Bosa claimed a piece of NFL history Sunday, as the Los Angeles Chargers defensive end set the league record for most sacks through the first 20 games of a career, according to Eric D. Williams of ESPN.
Bosa recorded the 19th sack of his career Sunday against the New England Patriots, breaking the previous record of 18.5 that Aldon Smith set in 2012 as a member of the San Francisco 49ers.
The 22-year-old second-year player now has 8.5 sacks through eight games this season. Bosa recorded an impressive 10.5 sacks last season despite missing the first four games.
