Athletics' Maxwell arrested after allegedly pointing gun at delivery woman
Oakland Athletics catcher Bruce Maxwell, who made headlines in September by becoming the first baseball player to kneel during the national anthem, was arrested after allegedly pointing a gun at a delivery woman at his Scottsdale, Ariz., home on Saturday night, TMZ Sports first reported.
Maxwell faces charges of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, and disorderly conduct. In a statement obtained by Kurt Chirbas of NBC News, the Scottsdale Police Department confirmed Maxwell's arrest and added that he is being held in custody while awaiting his initial court appearance.
Police said that they responded to a call at Maxwell's house in Scottsdale, and the victim alleged that Maxwell pointed a gun at her.

Maxwell entered the headlines earlier in the week after alleging he was refused service at a restaurant in his hometown of Huntsville, Ala., by a pro-Trump waiter. That waiter has since denied the allegations, claiming Maxwell is "outright lying" about that incident.
Maxwell, who was drafted by the Athletics in 2012, owns a .251/.331/.354 slash line with four home runs across 109 career major-league games.
