Darvish apologizes to Dodgers fans for Game 7 loss: 'I couldn't do it'
Yu Darvish lasted less than two innings in Los Angeles' World Series loss to the Houston Astros on Wednesday, and he wants Dodgers fans to know he's sorry.
Darvish was recently tracked down by TMZ Sports and asked how he felt about his Game 7 performance.
"I just feel bad about Game 7," Darvish explained. "I still feel bad ... Dodgers fans ... they expect we won the World Series. I couldn't do it. I still feel sorry. I did my 100 percent."
Darvish did not perform well during two starts in the World Series, allowing nine hits and posting a 21.60 ERA across just 3 1/3 innings.
The 31-year-old, who is a free agent, was acquired by the Dodgers from the Texas Rangers at the July trade deadline to give them a formidable one-two punch behind ace Clayton Kershaw.
L.A. hasn't won a World Series since 1988.
