The Chicago Cubs continued their coaching-staff shake-up into the evening on Thursday with the North Siders hiring Jim Hickey to become their new pitching coach.
Hickey takes over for Chris Bosio, who was fired on Saturday.
The 56-year-old Hickey left his role as Tampa Bay Rays pitching coach at the end of the 2017 season after spending 11 years with the organization. He was also the Rays pitching coach when current Cubs manager Joe Maddon was skipper of the Tampa club.
Chicago also announced the hires of former Boston Red Sox coaches Chili Davis and Brian Butterfield earlier on Wednesday.
