The UFC announced Friday that Saturday's lightweight bout between Nik Lentz and Will Brooks at UFC 216 has been canceled after Lentz encountered "medical issues."
Lentz later released a statement attributing his removal to a number of alarming symptoms related to his weight cut:

The fight was to be featured in the card's prelims. A flyweight tilt between Matt Schnell and Marco Beltran has been bumped up from the Fight Pass prelims in its stead.
Lentz's last fight was a unanimous decision loss to Islam Makhachev at UFC 208 in February. Brooks was hoping to rebound from back-to-back losses to Alex Olivera and Charles Olivera.
