Severino chased in 1st inning of wild-card game after allowing pair of HRs
It wasn't Luis Severino's night.
The New York Yankees starter was chased from the American League wild-card game after recording just one out against the Minnesota Twins. Severino allowed a leadoff home run to Twins second baseman Brian Dozier before Eddie Rosario's two-run shot put Minnesota up 3-0 in the first inning.

The 23-year-old then allowed a single to Eduardo Escobar and a double to Max Kepler before he was pulled by skipper Joe Girardi. He was replaced by Chad Green, who struck out Byron Buxton and Jason Castro in the next two at-bats to get the Yankees out of the opening frame.
With his 1/3 of an inning, Severino equals both Art Ditmar and Bob Turley for the shortest start in the postseason ever by a Yankees pitcher, according to Baseball Reference.
