Danny Trevathan's hit on a defenseless receiver is under review for potential discipline from the league, an NFL spokesman informed ESPN's Dan Graziano.
The Chicago Bears linebacker struck Green Bay Packers receiver Davante Adams with a helmet-to-helmet blow to the facemask in the third quarter of Thursday's game. Adams had to be stretchered off the field.
Trevathan only drew a 15-yard penalty for unnecessary roughness on the play, as the referee said he "didn't see enough" to warrant an ejection.
The NFL approved a rule this offseason that allows for suspensions on egregious hits.
Trevathan said after the game that he doesn't believe the hit deserves a suspension.
