Report: Alvarez-GGG generated 1.3M PPV buys

Canelo Alvarez and Gennady Golovkin's middleweight title fight brought in 1.3 million pay-per-view buys, a source told Lance Pugmire of the Los Angeles Times.
The bout infamously ended as a draw with judge Adelaide Byrd taking much criticism for a 118-110 scorecard in favor of Alvarez.
It's by far the highest buy rate of Golovkin's career, although Alvarez exceeded 2 million buys for his 2013 match against Floyd Mayweather.
The Sept. 16 fight also didn't come close to matching the projected 4.6 million buys that have been reported for the Mayweather-Conor McGregor bout held three weeks earlier.
Golovkin and Alvarez have already begun negotiations for a rematch in May 2018.
