Pick or Pass? Who to take in your survivor pool in Week 3

Cary Edmondson / USA TODAY Sports

There was some drama in Week 2 as the Seattle Seahawks left it until late to finally put away the San Francisco 49ers, but we made it to Week 3 with a perfect 4-0 record.

This week's schedule doesn't offer as many double-digit favorites as the previous two, but there are two clear teams yet to be picked yet that should be strong plays on Sunday.

Two teams to pick

New England Patriots

The New England Patriots took their Week 1 frustrations out on the New Orleans Saints last Sunday, as Tom Brady piled up 447 yards passing in a 36-20 beatdown. While Drew Brees got his yardage on the Patriots' secondary, it's unlikely that rookie Deshaun Watson will be able to do the same.

The Houston Texans' defense is solid, but with the offense likely to struggle against the Patriots, it's only a matter of time before the dam breaks and the defending Super Bowl champs put up some points.

Green Bay Packers

Without his two starting offensive tackles last week versus the Atlanta Falcons, Aaron Rodgers took a pounding that we have rarely seen the Green Bay Packers star take. Bryan Bulaga appears set to return to the ailing line, and with a week to prepare, expect some better protection for Rodgers. That is a necessity against the Cincinnati Bengals' impressive front-7, which ranks among the top in the league. Cincinnati made a change at the offensive coordinator spot after a dreadful start to the season, but they likely won't be able to keep up with Rodgers and Co.

Team to avoid

Denver Broncos

The Denver Broncos looked exceptional against the Dallas Cowboys last week, but could be primed for a letdown on the road in Buffalo on Sunday. While the Bills' offense has certainly struggled this season, the defense is performing at an impressive level and could force Trevor Siemian into some turnovers at home. The Bills may not get the win, but this game is dangerous enough to avoid in your survivor pool.

Record: 4-0
Teams picked so far: Carolina Panthers, Pittsburgh Steelers, Seattle Seahawks, Oakland Raiders
