Kaepernick: I'm 'ready right now' to play football

Gary A. Vasquez-USA TODAY Sports

Colin Kaepernick put an end to any questions about his desire to continue playing football Sunday.

Speaking with Shaun King of the New York Daily News, Kaepernick noted he is still hoping to land an NFL contract when asked if he wanted to continue his football career.

"Yes," Kaepernick said. "I've never stopped. I'm ready right now. Working out daily."

Kaepernick remaining unsigned by an NFL team has been the subject of much controversy, as many believe he is being shut out for taking a knee during the national anthem last season.

Many have recently voiced their support for Kaepernick getting another shot, including New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady.
