Wait, what?
Chicago Cubs starting pitcher John Lackey shocked the baseball world, probably, when he stole second base in the bottom of the fourth inning in Wednesday's game against the Cincinnati Reds.
Lackey, 38, has been in the big leagues for 15 seasons and never recorded a stolen base until straying before Reds starter Homer Bailey even began his windup.
His glory was short-lived, however, as he was promptly picked off after Ben Zobrist walked. Easy come, easy go.
Lackey's the fourth pitcher this season to record a stolen base after Jacob deGrom, Jhoulys Chacin, and teammate Jon Lester.
