Watch: Teammates, family salute Beltre on field after hit No. 3,000

Ray Carlin / USA TODAY Sports

Adrian Beltre is in the history books.

The Texas Rangers third baseman made history Sunday against the Baltimore Orioles when he recorded the 3,000th hit of his illustrious career, smoking a fourth-inning double down the line to become the first player from the Dominican Republic to achieve the feat.

Following the knock, the game was temporarily halted in order for his Rangers teammates - and even the Orioles - to salute the 38-year-old star, while Beltre's family ran toward the outfield wall at Globe Life Park to unfurl a new decal honoring the future Hall of Famer.
