UFC commentator Joe Rogan apologized Sunday for breaking his own rule and interviewing Daniel Cormier after he'd been knocked out Saturday at UFC 214.

Cormier's team was upset with Rogan's interview, which took place just minutes after the former champion was knocked out for the first time in his career. Cormier admitted in the interview he didn't know what had happened and couldn't keep himself from tearing up.

Rogan apologized via Twitter, taking full responsibility for his actions:

After interviewing Alistair Overeem following a knockout loss at UFC 203, Rogan said on-air he would request not to have losing fighters do postfight interviews if they'd been knocked out.
