CFP's Hancock: 'Majority of people' like current playoff format

Kim Klement-USA TODAY Sports

Anyone hoping for the college football playoff to expand might be sorely disappointed.

Bill Hancock, the executive director of the College Football Playoff, was at Mountain West Media Days on Wednesday and said the feedback he is getting on the playoff is mainly positive.

Many fans were hoping to see the four-team playoff expanded to eight teams and possibly beyond, given the additional intrigue the format provides in the last few weeks of the season.

It's possible this could still happen down the road, but given Hancock's comments, it doesn't appear to be on the way anytime soon.
