Report: Hugh Freeze's job in 'immediate jeopardy' due to new case information

Shanna Lockwood / USA TODAY Sports

Hugh Freeze's days at Ole Miss could be numbered.

According to Pat Forde of Yahoo Sports, "explosive new information" in the NCAA investigation into Freeze and Ole Miss has put Freeze's job in "immediate jeopardy," and that a decision from the university could come soon.

The information is not yet known at this time, but the development comes just over a week after former Rebels head coach Houston Nutt filed a lawsuit against the university, claiming that Freeze knowingly lied to journalists and blamed the majority of the NCAA's allegations on him.

Freeze has largely been mum in regards to fielding questions surrounding the NCAA's investigation, dodging questions earlier this summer while at the Regions NCR Pro-Am.

Freeze has led Ole Miss to a record of 39-25 since taking over the program prior to the 2012 season.
