It appears like a reunion between the Panda and his former club in San Francisco could have been preemptive.

After a report surfaced Wednesday evening which stated Sandoval had signed a minor-league deal with the Giants following his release from the Boston Red Sox, the Venezuelan denied its validity in an interview with ESPN's Marly Rivera.

"I'm waiting for Friday to make a decision, and the Giants are one of my options. I have a few teams interested but I won't be making a decision until Friday," he said.

Rumors surrounding Sandoval's possible return to the Bay Area have been prominent since the 30-year-old was designated for assignment by the Red Sox following a terrible three-year stint with the club.

Giants general manager Bobby Evans appeared open to the idea of a reunion between the two sides during a radio appearance Wednesday, even though Sandoval had some unimpressive parting words for the franchise after he signed with the Red Sox in 2014.

No matter where Sandoval decides to sign, he'll continue to earn the $48.66 million remaining on a five-year contract he signed with the Red Sox.

During his three seasons in Boston, Sandoval hit just .237/.286/.360 with 14 home runs and 59 RBIs.

Sandoval was a two-time All-Star, three-time World Series champion, and 2012 World Series MVP during his seven seasons with the Giants where he slashed .294/.346/.465 with 106 home runs and 462 RBIs from 2008-14.
