Did Mayweather and McGregor run out of ideas in Brooklyn?

What a drop-off.

After waiting for more than an hour-and-a-half to see Conor McGregor and Floyd Mayweather, fight fans in Brooklyn were treated to the worst stop of the tour, and of the Irishman's career, so far.

The Los Angeles stop was disorganized, but certainly entertaining. The Toronto leg was electric from start to finish. The Brooklyn portion was, well, awful.

McGregor came out in a polar bear-skin coat, no shirt, and colorful pants, which might have been amusing if he hadn't spent the last two days telling Mayweather to dress his age while wearing premium suits.

"The Notorious" began his time on the mic inaudibly rapping the Notorious B.I.G.'s "Going Back to Cali" before poking fun at Mayweather and New York native 50 Cent for their tax problems, and doing some more borderline rapping.

After his use of the word "boy" to address Mayweather earlier in the tour was called racist, McGregor could have avoided the topic altogether, but instead made things worse by claiming he's "black from the belly button down." With Mayweather laughing in the background, McGregor then did a dance for his "beautiful black female fans."

With MMA Fighting's Ariel Helwani reporting that the audio was barely getting through to the fans, McGregor heard rare boos before turning the show over to Mayweather, who couldn't capitalize on the fumble.

After two press conferences, Mayweather appeared flat out of ideas, regurgitating the same insults about McGregor being a "quitter," bragging about making lots of money and being around a long time, wearing an Irish flag, and even awkwardly making nice with Dana White again.

He also brought his school bag on stage for the third straight day, but at least took the money out himself this time.

When the crowd clearly turned on McGregor, all Mayweather did was repeatedly scream "Yeeeah!" into the mic. And when things looked like they might get physical, which could have saved the event, Mayweather yelled out "Form Voltron," signaling his entourage to protect him.

While they can perhaps be excused due to their lack of sleep in this fast-paced media tour, McGregor and Mayweather disappointed the fans in Brooklyn, and those watching all over the world. There were no snappy quotes, no protagonist, no charismatic stage presence, and not even a proper stare-down to finish things off.

With one leg of this international press tour to go, both fighters will need a strong rebound performance in London to show Brooklyn was just a hiccup in this circus act.
