Ntcham targeting trophies at Celtic after permanent move from City

Glasgow - France Under-21 midfielder Olivier Ntcham is looking forward to winning silverware after joining Scottish champions Celtic from Premier League giants Manchester City on Wednesday.

The 21-year-old never played for City, as, on joining them in 2015, he was sent on loan to Italians Genoa, where he stayed until signing a four-year contract with Celtic on Wednesday.

It sees him join up with fellow France Under-21 international Moussa Dembele, whose 32-goal haul was pivotal to their sweeping of the domestic trophies without losing a match last season.

"It's a nice feeling to be here at Celtic and I want to win everything at Celtic as I have never won a trophy before," Ntcham told the champions' website.

"I'm most looking forward to the derby and playing in the Champions League.

"I remember them beating Barcelona five years ago in the group stages. Not every club gets to play in this competition so I'm happy to have the chance to play there with Celtic.

"Celtic is a fresh challenge for me. While Genoa are a good team, I knew they wouldn't win Serie A as they were not a top team like Juventus, but I know Celtic are a big team in Scotland."

Celtic said they were extremely happy to have secured his signature.

"The highly-rated French midfielder is considered to be one of the most exciting young talents in football, and will be a great addition to (Celtic manager) Brendan Rodgers' treble-winning Invincibles," read their statement on the club's website.
