Antonio Rudiger's transfer to Chelsea from Roma is edging toward completion as his agents arrive in London to discuss personal terms.

Talks have entered an advanced stage after agents arrived in the English capital on Saturday to finalise the transfer, according to Sky Sports.

A deal for the 24-year-old could cost Chelsea as much as £34 million, a fee which the two clubs allegedly reached an agreement on earlier this week.

Rudiger is also expected to put pen to paper on a five-year contract that will keep him at Stamford Bridge until 2022, according to previous reports.

He will become Chelsea's second summer signing following Willy Caballero's transfer from Manchester City.

Rudiger initially joined Roma on loan from VfB Stuttgart ahead of the 2015-16 season before securing a permanent transfer the following summer.

His arrival will be somewhat of a consolation after Chelsea missed out on a chance to reunite with forward Romelu Lukaku, whose transfer to Manchester United is virtually complete after the club reached an agreement with Everton over a fee for the Belgian international.
