4-star RB James Cook decommits from Florida State

Jason Getz-USA TODAY Sports

James Cook doesn't appear to want to follow in his brother's footsteps.

The four-star running back and brother of former Florida State star Dalvin Cook is decommitting from the Seminoles, he announced. Cook thanked Jimbo Fisher and the rest of the coaching staff, but noted "It's nothing personal just business."

Cook committed more than a year ago and ranks 54th on the ESPN 300 for the 2018 class. He's also the third-ranked player at his position.

The Miami native will have no shortage of destinations to choose from. Cook was also being pursued by Alabama, Auburn, Ohio State, Michigan, and several others.

Dalvin finished his career at Florida State with more than 4,400 yards rushing before being drafted by the Minnesota Vikings this year.
