Watch: Dwyer smashes home debut goal with sweet volley

@USsoccer/Twitter

It took all of 19 minutes for Dom Dwyer to score on his U.S. men's national team debut, and he did so in tremendous fashion, smashing home a first-time volley after a fortuitous bounce off the foot of Jorge Villafana to give his side a 1-0 lead over Ghana in this pre-Gold Cup friendly.

Dwyer, who was born in England but recently became an American citizen, became the 48th player to score on his U.S. national team debut. His wife, U.S. women's team star Sydney Leroux, reacted to her husband's debut screamer appropriately, too:

The U.S. went on to win 2-1.
