Giants aim to have Bumgarner back mid-July

The San Francisco Giants are expected to be sellers come the July 31 non-waiver trade deadline, but that doesn't mean they won't add at least one All-Star to the active roster this month.

The club aims to have left-hander Madison Bumgarner come off the disabled list July 15 in San Diego following an extended stay on the shelf due to a dirt-biking accident, according to Alex Pavlovic of NBC Sports Bay Area.

Bumgarner suffered bruised ribs and a left shoulder sprain in late April as the result of the accident during the team's off-day in Denver. He began throwing again in early June and is scheduled for two rehab starts with the hope that he'll be back in the majors following the All-Star break.

While the return of the staff ace will be an enormous boost for the Giants, their ambitions of reaching the postseason have already been dashed. San Francisco owns the second-worst record in the majors and is believed to be open to trading anyone aside from Brandon Crawford, Buster Posey, or Bumgarner at the deadline.
