The New York Yankees are cutting slugger Chris Carter loose once again as the team announced Tuesday it has designated the first baseman for assignment.
In a corresponding roster move, the Yankees selected the contract of Ji-Man Choi from Triple-A and added him to the 25-man roster.
After passing through waivers unclaimed following his first designation June 24, Carter returned to the Yankees just five days later. He struggled to reclaim a starting gig in his second go-around, however, slashing just .200/.250/.267 in his next 15 at-bats.
