Tom O'Brien, known widely as the all-time winningest head coach in Boston College history, will serve as a radio color commentator for Navy, his alma mater, this season.

O'Brien, who led Boston College from 1997-2006, was also at the helm of NC State from 2007-12. He compiled a 115-80 record across his 16 seasons as a head coach. O'Brien played defensive end at Navy from 1968-70, and began his coaching career with the Midshipmen, tutoring offensive tackles and tight ends between 1975 and 1981.

"After a 25-year sabbatical from the Naval Academy, I am thrilled to return to Annapolis and be a part of the radio team," he said in a school announcement.

O'Brien, 68, retired from coaching at the end of the 2014 season, after spending the previous two years as an assistant at Virginia.
