Real Madrid president Florentino Perez has yet to hold talks with Manchester United over the availability of forward Alvaro Morata.

The Real Madrid forward has been linked with a move to United throughout the summer, with the Premier League side seemingly closing in on a deal worth £60 million.

However, Perez has yet to hear from United officials, but conceded he's aware Morata's representatives may have already held talks with the English team.

"I believe we are not negotiating with Manchester United, which does not mean that there are not people around him who are talking, which is normal," he told El Primer Palo, as translated by Dermot Corrigan of ESPN FC. "I have read that we have reached an agreement for I don't know how many million euros, but it is not true."

United's interest in the Spanish international increased after deciding not to pick up the option in Zlatan Ibrahimovic's contract in the weeks after the Swedish forward tore his ACL.

Since then, United has been heavily linked with the 24-year-old, who would reportedly earn €7.5 million per year if he moves to Old Trafford.

Morata is coming off a season where he finished behind Cristiano Ronaldo for the team lead in league goals with 15 in 26 appearances.
