Watch: Muguruza breaks down in tears during post-match press conference

It was a tough day for Garbine Muguruza.

After falling to Kristina Mladenovic in three sets and being asked about the Frenchwoman's shouting following her errors, Muguruza broke down in the post-match press conference. (Sara Errani also took issue with Mladenovic's yelling "Forza" in Italian after points earlier in the tournament.)

Muguruza wasn't pleased with the crowd either, and wagged her finger at the Roland Garros faithful when she walked off the court.

"I think the crowd today was a little bit obviously tough for me," Muguruza said, according to Tennis Now. "I just think that they were a little bit, sometimes should be a little bit more respectful. … I know she's a French player, and I understand that. I went prepared out there. But it's always tricky when you have to defend your title and you have someone that's going to be a tough match, no matter in which country you play."

The No. 4 seed also seemed to feel somewhat relieved after her quest for a second straight French Open title ended.

After winning her first Slam last year, the 23-year-old hasn't made it past the quarters in a major since.
