Manchester United is close to securing its first transfer of the summer after agreeing to pay €52 million for Inter Milan winger Ivan Perisic, according to Gazzetta dello Sport's Carlo Laudisa.

The agreement is expected to be finalised once the Croatian international agrees to terms on a contract to join Jose Mourinho's team.

News of the reported agreement between the two teams comes after Chelsea reportedly joined the race to sign Perisic. United allegedly disagreed with Inter's valuation of Perisic, whose contract with Inter runs until 2020, but the club has seemingly acted quickly to fend of interest from its Premier League rival.

His possible arrival could also give legitimacy to reports that United is shifting its attention away from Atletico Madrid star Antoine Griezmann.

Since joining Inter from Wolfsburg in 2015, Perisic, 28, has found the back of the net 18 times and set up 14 assists in 70 Serie A appearances.

He has also played a prominent role on the international stage with Croatia, winning over 50 caps since making his senior debut in 2012.
